Belt Up Weekend

Belt Up Weekend was held on the 14th and 15th of May this year and once again all leagues and clubs observed 30 sec silence in remembrance of those who have lost their lives on country roads.

The Best of Fairest player of each game was presented with a Belt Up Round special edition football and the important message was also given extra coverage via PA announcements at the games.

It is one of the most important rounds in the WACFL calendar and each year we are getting the message out further to each community on how important this vital message is.

Wearing a seat belt is one of easiest ways of protecting drivers and passengers when travelling in a vehicle. Every year about 40 people are killed in road crashes because they are not wearing a seat belt.

Seat belts prevent vehicle occupants from being ejected from a vehicle, they reduce the time taken to come to a stop in a crash (hence reducing impact forces), spread the impact force over a greater area of the body and minimise contact of occupants with a vehicle’s interior.

Belt up! Wearing a seat belt can be a life or death decision – for both you and your passengers
