WAAFL Recognise Volunteers

THE  WA Amateur Football League will recognise the thousands of hours of work put in by its volunteers with the presentation of Volunteer Recognition Awards during this weekend’s heritage round celebrations.

General Manager of Senior Metropolitan Community Football Cameron Agnew said that volunteers were an integral part of community football.

“In creating the Volunteer Recognition Awards the WAAFL has provided another means to recognize those integral people involved in club football, volunteers” Agnew said.

“The WAAFL aims to continue recognisng the outstanding efforts of those volunteers who continually give up their time to community football.”

Clubs were encouraged to put forward nominations for volunteers to receive the awards and the WAAFL will present clubs with the awards at tonight’s Presidents meeting.

The clubs will then present the volunteers with the awards in match day presentations this weekend, with some board members being invited to present the award on behalf of the league.

The winners of awards this year are recognized for their length of service:

-          Bronze: 10+ years Service
