Manning Move into Third

MANNING Rippers claimed an important 34-point victory over Swan Valley in wet and windy conditions at Swan Valley Sporting Complex last weekend.

Ash Bentley and Shaun Sullivan kicked four goals each to lead Manning to a comfortable 14.15 (99) to 10.5 (65), propelling them to third position on the C3 Grade table.

The reserves also claimed victory over Swan Valley, this time by 24-points, with veteran forward Mark Wood starring alongside Tony Ronaldson and midfielder Erwin Edlinger.

The Rippers kicked early goals and managed to hold firm in the last quarter to win 9.5 (59) to 4.11 (35) and move into fifth spot on the ladder. A notable highlight was the resolute defence, led by Daniel Hurrell and Cameron Henry

In the colts, the Rippers dominated the contest against Safety Bay, running out 98-point winners.
