West Coast Eagles State Amateur U/23s to Play in AAFC Final

The West Coast Eagles State Amateur U/23’s have won a place in Sundays Grand Final of the Australian Amateur Football Council National Championships after defeating Tasmania and host-side South Australia.

The carnival format meant that each of the competing teams – Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and WA – played each other once in a modified length game with the two top ranked sides at the conclusion of matches playing in the Grand Final.

West Coast Eagles State Amateur Under 23's Undefeated After Day One

THE West Coast Eagles State Amateur Under 23 team has won their second game of the AAFC National Championships, defeating host team South Australia by 21 points in slippery conditions.

Leading one goal four to four points at the break, the South Australian side was found to have an extra player on the ground at the two minute mark of the second term and had their score –which had not changed since half time – erased.

West Coast Eagles State Amateur Under 23's Win Tight First Game

The West Coast Eagles State Amateur Under 23’s have kept their hopes of winning the AAFC National Championship alive with a last gasp win against Tasmania in game one.

The AAFC National Championship format see’s the teams play two, 20 minute halves and it was the West Coast Eagles State Amateur Under 23’s on top by three points at the break. Tasmania rallied and went within a whisker of winning before WA kicked the last goal of the day to run out winners by two points.

THE West Coast Eagles State Amateur Under 23’s will take on the best amateur footballers in the country this week at the 2011 National Carnival and you can listen live.

Historic moment for Community Umpire

THE West Australian umpiring community will celebrate a rare milestone this weekend when goal umpire Des Morgan (Pictured far right) takes to the field for the 1000th time to umpire the A Grade clash between Mount Lawley and Maddington.

Morgan, who began his career in 1978 for the South Suburban Murray National Football League, handpicked the game he will officiate this weekend for sentimental reasons.

Umpires Show Impressive Skills at Gosnells

On Thursday May 5, the Gosnells Football Club welcomed the Senior Community Umpiring Team to train with the club at Gosnells Oval.

What started off as an idea by Gosnells President Brian Antunovich, Umpires Association President Matt O’Mara and Senior Metropolitan Community Umpire Manager Glenn Omodei turned out to be an outstanding success.

Gosnells Celebrate Milestone in Style

THE Gosnells Football Club celebrated the 200 game milestone of one of its 2008 Premiership players, Chad Brown last weekend with a win over C1 rivals Thornlie.

Brown began his career in 1999 with Gosnells in Sunday Football League and became a vital part of the side. In 2006 he won Gosnells Footballer of the Year and two years later, in 2008, was joint Best & Fairest winner as Gosnells took home the Sunday Football League Premiership in the leagues final year.

Panthers Victorious in Integrated Football

The WAAFL Integrated Football had its second game for the season last Saturday night when Lynwood Ferndale took on High Wycombe at Scott Reserve.

The Lynwood Ferndale Panthers travelled out to Scott Reserve to take on High Wycombe, one of two new teams this year.

The following players are a part of the West Coast Eagles State Amateur U/23's Squad to take on the Peel Football League this Wednesday, May 25th at Anniversary Park, Rockingham. 

Players are required to arrive at the ground at 6:00pm.

Bouncedown for the match is at 7:20pm following the Colts game at 5:20pm.
