Pink carpet event for WA Women's League

The girls are trading in their boots for a pair of heels to walk down the pink carpet at the 2011 WA Women’s Football League presentation night tomorrow, Saturday August 13.

After a hard fought season the women from the WAWFL are preparing to let their hair down and celebrate the outstanding individual performances of players and volunteers over the three divisions this year.

The league will be recognising the players who have kicked the most goals in their division, the rising stars and of course the best and fairest player for each division as voted by the umpires.

Register now for Swan Districts Youth Girls competition


THE 2011 Swan Districts Youth Girls Competition for 13-17 year olds is kicking off in August, with players encourgaed to sign up now.

Pre-registrations are being taken by Swan Districts, Female Football Development Officer, Chelsea Randall

Women's National Championship Grand Final results

Victoria defeated WA in the Division One final of the 2011 Women’s National Championships in Adelaide on Saturday, June 11.

The one-sided scoreline did not reflect the toughness of the competition and the fact that WA applied excellent pressure and run in the first quarter.

WA's Kirby Bentley won the Debbie Lee medal for the Fairest and Best of Division 1, while WA umpire Amy McQuade won All Australian Field umpire.

WA Women to play Vics in grand Final


WA will play Victoria in the Grand Final of the AFL Women’s National Championships on Saturday, June 11 after defeating South Australia on Day 3 of the competition.

The Champiosnhips commenced in Adelaide on Tuesday June 7 and will conclude with the finals at Gliderol Stadium, Glenelg.

The Debbie Lee Medal will be presented to the Division One best and fairest player and the All-Australian team will be announced after the Division One final.

AFL Women's National Championship - Day 1 & 2 Results

The AFL Women’s National Championships commenced in Adelaide on Tuesday June 7 and will conclude on Saturday June 11, with the finals played at Gliderol Stadium, Glenelg.

The biennial Championships provide an opportunity for the nation’s most talented female footballers to represent their state or territory. This year is the first truly national competition with the introduction of a team from Tasmania.
