The Edmund Rice Centre in Mirrabooka is looking for young migrants and refugees aged 13 - 18 years to join a new AFL football team – the Edmund Rice Centre Lions.
The team will consist wholly of people who have come to Australia from another country to live, and will train for six weeks before playing a match against a local football team from the Subiaco Football District on Sunday 11 April 2010.
Training starts 4pm, Wednesday 4 March 2010, at the Herb Graham Recreation Centre. Talented footballers will be offered further opportunities to develop their talent.
If you think you could be the next Nic Naitanui or just want to have a go, then don't miss your chance to be part of this team.
For more information, please call Russell Higgins at the West Australian Football Commission 9381 5599 OR Joe Moniodis at the Edmund Rice Centre on 9440 0625.
This Edmund Rice Centre initiative is supported by the West Australian Football Commission Department of Sport and Recreation, City of Stirling, Office of Multicultural interests and the Subiaco Football District.
