Thirty teachers vying for AFL School Ambassador AwardsTuesday, August 1, 2017 - 9:45 AM

Thirty finalists across six categories have been announced ahead of the AFL School Ambassador Awards night to be held at Domain Stadium on August 10.

AFL School Ambassadors are dedicated teachers and school staff who actively promote Australian Rules at their school.

Finalists were selected from a pool of more than 100 nominations, with a winner from each category to be crowned at the annual awards night.

The categories include:
Most Outstanding Primary School AFL School Ambassador Award
Most Outstanding Secondary School AFL School Ambassador Award
Outstanding First Year AFL School Ambassador Award
Outstanding Indigenous AFL School Program Award
Outstanding Female AFL School Program Award
Outstanding Multicultural AFL School Program Award.

The primary and secondary school winners come away with a trip for two to Melbourne to watch an AFL final.

This year Simon Nimmo from Yule Brook College, Taziana Leunig from Melville SHS IEC and Thomas Moscarda from Wanneroo Secondary College will look to go back-to-back in the Most Outstanding Indigenous Program, Multicultural Program and Most Outstanding Secondary AFL School Ambassador award respectively.
