WA players impress at AFL National Inclusion CarnivalWednesday, August 2, 2017 - 3:02 PM

Two West Australian players have received All-Australian selection following the 2017 AFL National Inclusion Carnival held on the Gold Coast last month.

Fillip Ranieri and Raphael Gould were among the 18-player squad selected after the carnival.

WA finished third in Pool B of the carnival with three wins from five matches played across five days. WA’s wins came against Northern territory and South Australia.

WA qualified for Pool B after winning two out of five matches at the carnival’s round-robin style grading day.

The Pool B competition consisted of four teams- South Australia, Northern Territory, Tasmania and Western Australia.

WA managed to win their first two matches of the carnival against South Australia and the Northern Territory before they were defeated by Tasmania in their final match on Friday. The loss dropped them into third position on the Pool B ladder and unfortunately, they missed the Pool B Grand Final by percentage only.

With one game remaining, the side played off for third position against the Northern Territory and finished their campaign with a comfortable 85-point victory.

Community TAB is very proud to have been a major sponsor of the WA team and an ongoing support of the Integrated Football program in WA.
