WAFL Round 20 teams and previewsFriday, August 4, 2017 - 2:05 PM

THE last month of 2017 WAFL season gets underway with Round 20 on Saturday with West Perth and East Perth fighting over fifth position, Swan Districts and East Fremantle trying to end the winning runs of the top teams and Claremont in a must-win situation.

That sets the scene for four crucial matches on Saturday as part of Round 20 with the stakes getting increasingly higher the closer to the end of the season we get.

Subiaco will host Swan Districts at Leederville Oval with the Lions looking for a 17th consecutive victory. But the chance is there for Swans to end that winning run but more importantly move into third position themselves if they can get over the line.

South Fremantle takes on East Fremantle in the final derby of 2017 at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

Last time they met the Bulldogs won by 145 points in the WA Day Foundation Derby, but the Sharks will be looking for a much more competitive performance this time around in an attempt to get off the bottom of the ladder and to end South Fremantle's winning run at six.

Perth moved off the bottom without playing last weekend and the Demons will look to keep it that way hosting Claremont at Lathlain Park. But for Claremont, a loss would end its finals hopes so the Tigers can't afford to slip up if they still have ambitions for 2017.

The last game of the round sees fifth position go on the line when West Perth hosts East Perth at HBF Arena. The game will be live on 7mate from 2.30pm.
