Footy returns to the WACAThursday, August 3, 2017 - 3:10 PM

More than 3,000 Auskickers, parents and coaches converged on the iconic WACA Ground for the WA Football Commission’s inaugural Auskick Festival on Sunday, July 30.

The event, delivered in partnership with the WACA, saw 44 Auskick teams participate in a series of NAB AFL Auskick games and T20 Blast activations, with ‘having a go’ being the common theme of the day.

Initially developed by WAFC Development staff and WACA Regional staff, the event aimed to promote NAB AFL Auskick and support the transition between Year 2 Auskick and the WAFC Year 3s competition.

WAFC Acting General Manager – Engagement Troy Kirkham said it was fantastic to see Auskickers from across the metro central region come together and is excited to build on the event’s success in 2018.

“The WAFC Auskick Showcase was the culmination of the outstanding partnership between the WACA and WAFC,” he said.

“We appreciate the support of NAB and the WACA and are keen to build on the success of this showpiece event for next year.”
