WITH Subiaco having the bye in Round 16, the other eight WAFL clubs continue their fight over the remaining top five positions with South Fremantle and West Perth battling for second and then Perth, East Perth, Claremont, Swan Districts and Peel Thunder locked in a fight over fourth and fifth.

Subiaco is the rampant league-leaders currently sitting unbeaten on top of the WAFL ladder with the Lions having the bye in Round 16, but there remains seven clubs in the running for the remaining finals positions making Saturday's four contests tantalising.

All four Round 16 matches take place on Saturday afternoon in the traditional 2.15pm time slot.

Peel Thunder and South Fremantle have done battle in each of the past two finals series and they battle it out in a crucial match up for both at Bendigo Bank Stadium.

Peel has slipped to eighth position at 5-8 following losses to Subiaco and Perth with the two-time reigning premiers needing to bounce back or fall further outside the top five while South Fremantle needs to respond to a 10-goal loss to Subiaco with the Bulldogs only kicking three goals.

West Perth hosts Swan Districts at Joondalup Arena with the Falcons coming out of the bye and looking to retain third position and trying to stay in touch of second while Swans enter on a five-game losing run and having slipped down to seventh spot at 5-8.

Claremont and East Perth are two more teams locked in the battle over fourth and fifth position when they meet at Claremont Oval. 

The Royals snapped their six-game losing run beating Swan Districts last Saturday to move back fifth spot while the Tigers are just percentage outside a finals position entering Round 16.

Perth hosts East Fremantle also at Lathlain Park with the Demons trying to continue their impressive form and to remain inside the top five while the Sharks come off the bye attempting to snap a five-game losing slide.
