Unique jumper for Falcons at International RoundTuesday, July 8, 2014 - 10:45 AM

West Perth Football Club's league team will play in a special one-off International Jumper this Saturday to embrace its international community and build on the success of the club's International Round promotion over the last two years.

The promotion is being driven by the West Perth Football District with the support of the West Perth Football Club Board and the West Australian Football Commission.

The game against Subiaco this Saturday, July 12 is tipped to attract another strong crowd made up of footy die-hards and new Australians.

A total of 6195 people attended the game last year, making it the second consecutive year that International Round attracted more than 6000 people after 6044 attended in 2012.

For the first time in 2014 West Perth will also host The City of Joondalup’s Citizenship Ceremony as new Australians make a public commitment to Australia and accepting the responsibilities and privileges of citizenship. This will be held in a pre-match ceremony.

What else to expect:
• Free Footy Tickets to local school kids (70,000 given away across a two week period)
• The Falcons to play in a one-off International Round Jumper- recognizing the District's growing community
• Large Kids Zone with Bouncy Castles, Face Painting, Super Slide, West Coast Eagles inflatable football activities, sports activities
• International Food Stalls & British Beer Tent
• A Great Game of Footy
• Butler Falcons (Sudanese Female Football side) to play the Joondalup Falcons Youth Girls side prior to the match.

The Falcons Football District have been busy promoting the event and by the conclusion of term three will have visited 35 local Primary Schools Assemblies to promote this great community initiative.

With the International Round Jumper sponsored by the WA Football Commission, the Falcons District and West Perth Football Club were keen to see a unique “International Round” Jumper designed to recognise and celebrate the huge multicultural population that live and work in Perth’s northern corridor.

The club is confident they have this, thanks to local school students. The winner for the 2014 Design a Jumper Competition is Quinns Rocks Primary School Year 5 Student Talyn Robis.
