WA players at NAB AFL National Draft Combine

A group of 18 players from WA departed for Canberra on Monday afternoon to commence testing at the NAB AFL National Draft Combine at the Australian Institute of Sport.

The group includes 13 players from WA’s Brownes Chill AFL State Talent Academy along with WAFC High Performance Manager Craig Starcevich.

The group also includes four 17-year-old players, who will be tested in Canberra at the request of Greater Western Sydney, which will consider pre-selections as the club prepares for its entry into the AFL in 2012.

NAB AFL Draft combine - ruckmen

Western Australia's Matt Jones from South Fremantle (pictured) has been named among the ruckmen invited to attend the the NAB AFL National Draft Combine to be held from September 28 to October 1, 2010 at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.

Luke Adams from Swan Districts will attend the WA State screening session at UWA on October 10.

Western Australia's Angus Litherland from Claremont (pictured) and Justin Monaco from East Fremantle have been named among the tall defenders invited to attend the the NAB AFL Draft Camp to be held from September 28 to October 1, 2010 at the Australian Institute of Sport.

Tyler Chalwell from East Fremantle will attend the WA State screening session.

Coaches sought for Talent Academy

THE West Australian Football Commission is seeking expressions of interest for four new coaches to be involved with the State Talent Academy program. 

A ruck coach, State 18s assistant coach and two State 16s assistant coaches are sought to play an integral role in identifying and developing the State’s most talented young footballers.

The program culminates with participation in the NAB AFL National 16s & 18s Championships.

To be considered for this high profile role, applicants will need significant and successful experience developing youth aged players with excellent communication and leadership skills.
