WAFL Colts Development Super Round

THE West Australian Football League has scheduled three Colts games to be played at Patersons Stadium this Saturday, May 7, in a unique development opportunity for players and coaching staff.

With the generous support of Patersons Stadium staff,  three Round 8 WAFL Colts games will be played at WA’s Home of Football, with the first game to commence  at 9am and the last kicking off at 2pm.

The East Perth v Swan Districts Colts game was also scheduled to be played at Patersons Stadium as part of the Super Round but will now be played at 11.45am at Medibank Stadium at the request of Swan Districts.

Swans made the request following the weekend’s incident involving League player Luke Adams, so as their players and supporters could be together at this difficult time for the club.

The WAFL has rescheduled the match with the cooperation of East Perth and sends its sincere support, thoughts and best wishes to Luke Adams and his family.

WAFC High Performance Manager Craig Starcevich said the Super Round initiative had received the support of the WAFL Club Football Managers, Player Development Officers and Colts coaches, providing a great opportunity to showcase three Colts games at one venue on the same day.

“Fixtures for the 17-team AFL season in 2011 means that Patersons Stadium is available for this exciting concept, which will provide a fantastic development and coaching experience for all of the clubs involved,” Starcevich said.

“We are looking forward to what should be a great day and would especially like to thank the staff at Patersons Stadium for their efforts in making the venue available and providing this opportunity for our WAFL Colts.”
