WAFL has a new Edge

THE West Australian Football League and Student Edge, WA’s largest student organisation, have teamed up for the 2010 football season to offer members two-for-one entry to WAFL games.

As part of an initial one-year partnership with Student Edge, the WAFL will provide the entry offer to Student Edge members when they present their membership card at WAFL venues.

Student Edge members will also be entitled to receive a Football Budget, the official publication of the WAFL, with this offer.

Hungry McGough wants new Sharks success

NEW East Fremantle midfielder Mark McGough's hunger to return to a higher level has grown over the last two years and the former AFL on-baller wants to leave his mark at the Sharks under ex-teammate Shane Woewodin.

McGough played 37 games with Collingwood between 2002-04 and that included winning the Anzac Day Medal in 2002.

The last two of those years was as a teammate of his current coach Woewodin and the gutsy midfielder then played 12 games with St Kilda before his AFL career ended in 2006.

Live chat with West Coast on WAFL players

WAFL players listed with the West Coast Eagles will be put under the microscope during a live-chat session with the club's WAFL Coordinator Ian Miller at 4pm WST today. 

The online chat will be hosted on the West Coast Eagles website, with Miller discussing the form of West Coast players that competed in the WAFL at the weekend including the likes of Beau Wilkes, Ben McKinley, Callum Wilson and Matt Spangher.

WAFL Round 2 wrap up

CLAREMONT, East Fremantle and West Perth all remained undefeated after Round 2 of the AAMI WAFL Premiership season with Peel Thunder also on the board for 2010.

Claremont now has two straight 100-plus point thumpings to its credit after disposing of South Fremantle 24.9 (153) to 7.9 (51).

West Perth also downed Subiaco at Medibank Stadium 14.13 (97) to 8.12 (60), East Fremantle held off East Perth 9.8 (62) to 7.13 (55) and in the upset of the round, Peel despatched Perth 18.17 (125) to 10.13 (73).

AAMI WAFL Premiership season Round 2 preview

ROUND 2 of the AAMI WAFL Premiership Season holds plenty of intrigue with some big match-ups on Saturday afternoon.

League games will see Claremont take on South Fremantle, Subiaco host West Perth, East Perth play East Fremantle and Perth clash with Peel Thunder.
