East Fremantle Oval Update

Back to articles

The West Australian Football Commission (WAFC) together with an independent turf consultant has undertaken an inspection of the East Fremantle Oval playing surface to determine the suitability for training and WAFL matches to be played at the venue.

The inspection has identified some small, isolated areas of returfing required to enable the oval to be utilised for training and for WAFL matches. This remedial work will be completed next week and enable training to commence immediately.

The West Australian Football Commission is otherwise satisfied that the playing surface meets the assessment criteria for WAFL matches, at the time of inspection, and will permit matches to be scheduled at the venue, in accordance with the minimum 14-day notice period to the WAFC.

The WAFC will continue to work with the Town of East Fremantle, East Fremantle Football Club, Belgravia Leisure and Programmed Services to monitor the playing surface once training has commenced and have requested that the afore mentioned parties inspect the playing surface regularly post training.
