Darling Range and Court Grammar have emerged victorious at this year’s Freo Dockers Schoolgirls Cup in Cockburn.

The competition is open to girls in Years 7,8 and 9, providing another pathway for female footballers to showcase their talent in WA.

Darling Range overcame Mater Dei by 22 points in the Division 1 Grand Final, having reached the Semi Finals of Division 1 last year and claiming the Division 2 title in 2022.

Court Grammar enjoyed their first success at the Freo Schoolgirls Cup, winning Division 2, beating Yanchep SC by 19 points.

Ben Cribb, School Programs & Competitions Coordinator at the West Australian Football Commission, congratulated the winning teams.

“The Freo Schoolgirls Cup proved to be another successful event with the standard of football continuing to improve every year,” Cribb said.

“Our thanks also go out to the Fremantle Football Club for their ongoing support of this program.”

Date: Tuesday, 3rd September

Teams: Mater Dei College vs Darling Range Sports College

Venue: Fremantle Football Club, Cockburn

Final Score: Darling Range 5.3 (33) defeated Mater Dei 1.5 (11)

Teams: Yanchep Secondary College vs Court Grammar School

Venue: Fremantle Football Club, Cockburn

Final Score: Court Grammar 4.3 (27) defeated Yanchep SC 1.2 (8)
