State Talent and Draft"
The WA State U18s team is preparing for their 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships campaign with one final practice match against Claremont WAFL Colts tomorrow at Mineral Resources Park.
This will be their second practice match in two weeks, following a narrow defeat to the WAFL U21 team at Fremantle Community Bank Oval last Saturday.
WAFC State Talent Manager Adam Jones highlighted the importance of these practice matches.
“It’s a great opportunity for the team to gel before commencing the Championships,” Jones said.
“The practice matches are designed to help the playing group implement the game tactics and skills they’ve been working on in training.”
Despite some injury setbacks the team is almost at full strength heading into tomorrow’s game.
“The squad is coming together really well,” Jones said.
“There were a few injuries early in the program, but we are getting those players back now and the group will be in good shape.”
WA State U18s play Claremont Colts at Mineral Resources Park tomorrow at 1pm and can be live-streamed via Streamer.
