The final Kia Australia WA State Team has been named to travel to Adelaide for the 2021 State game against the SANFL on Saturday, May 15, at Adelaide Oval.

The fixture will take place at 2.05pm (WST) on Saturday as a curtain raiser to the Port Adelaide and Western Bulldogs game and will be live streamed on the WAFL Facebook page for all WA Football fans to enjoy.

A total of 18 players will make their debut in the black and gold, joining the experienced trio of Lachlan Delahunty, Leigh Kitchin and Jye Bolton in the side.

Ruckman Corey Gault and Claremont midfielder Bailey Rogers are the other Black Swans with State Game experience.

Sandover Medallists Bolton, Delahunty and Sam Fisher add plenty of strength in the midfield, alongside the pace of youngsters Ben Edwards and Connor West.

Josh Schoenfeld and Matt Parker bring AFL experience, while Zac Strom and Blake Schlensog will prove strong pillars in defence.

A dynamic forward line including Cody Ninyette, Tyrone Thorne and Callan England should provide plenty of scoring opportunities, with Tyler Keitel providing a tall option in the forward 50.

WAFL Premiership players Greg Clark and Harry Marsh bring success and experience to the line-up, with Lachlan Martinis and Cam Eardley giving versatility around the ground.

WA State Coach Geoff Valentine said there was great balance across all lines, with all 23 players in terrific form this WAFL season.

“We travel over to Adelaide full of confidence against a strong South Australian side,” Valentine said.

“We feel we’ve got a really talented group of players who have State, AFL and WAFL experience, and they’re in some really good form to start the 2021 WAFL season.”

“Playing a game at Adelaide Oval as a curtain raiser to an AFL game is a fantastic opportunity for these young men to showcase their ability and get a positive result for their State.”

The leadership group for the Kia Australia WA State Squad will be announced before the team flies out on Friday morning.

The match will also be available on SEN WA Radio.
