First Nations, Diversity and Inclusion

Footy for everyone

At WA Football, we believe everyone should have the chance to experience the joy of Australian Rules Football. We’re committed to building a game that’s inclusive, welcoming and accessible to all.

All Abilities

The Western Australian All Abilities Football Association was established to promote and grow Integrated football in WA. Its core purpose is to provide the opportunity for people with a disability to be involved and participate in Australian Rules Football like every other Australian. If you want to play, we’ll find a way.

Cultural Diversity

Our Multicultural Programs aim to introduce young people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities to Australian Football. We collaborate with schools, community football clubs, local government and refugee and migrant service providers to engage with new and emerging families through sport, offering opportunities to play, coach, umpire, train or volunteer. Our main objective is to facilitate club registrations through initiatives tailored for culturally and linguistically diverse young people.

Cultural Diversity

Exposure programs to connect new and emerging communities have been conducted in Intensive English Centres, English Second Language schools, mainstream schools, non-government organisations and government organisations since the programs launch in the South Fremantle District in 2005.

One such program is the Bachar Houli Foundation, which runs boys and girls programs for young Muslim children where they can learn the basics of football while participating in workshops on peak performance, leadership, identity and empowerment.
