The WA Police Force has launched a recruitment drive to attract more athletes into law enforcement.

The campaign is supported by WAFLW players Dakoda Hallam and Hannah Plummer.

Both are Constables in the WA Police Force, with Dakoda combining work with her passion for playing footy with West Perth, while Hannah is part of Swan Districts WAFLW side.

“After finishing school, I worked as a property manager in real estate,” said Plummer.

“While I enjoyed the job, I felt something else was out there for me.

“Then, one day, I saw an advertisement on TV for the WA Police Force.

“It clicked instantly because the idea of a career where I could help people, stay fit, and face new challenges every day was exactly what I was looking for.”

Hallam is grateful of the flexibility she’s given at work and by the Falcons

“I am lucky enough to have a supportive supervisor and station with sorting annual leave on game day if I am rostered to work.

“Also, I am lucky to have a supportive club that understands the challenges of my job and shift work.”

Plummer believes many of the skills required in football and police work overlap.

“Athletes, especially football players, excel in teamwork and communication,” she said.

“These skills are essential in the WA Police Force, where collaboration and mutual support are key to achieving common goals.

“Sports players are used to working together towards a shared objective, making them well-suited for a career in policing.”
