The Freo Dockers Cup for School Girls has finished for another year, ending in triumph for Iona Presentation College and Bunbury Senior High School.

Iona Presentation College, having won the Independent Girls Sporting Schools Association competition before entering the White Division at the Quarter Final stage, defeated Melville Senior High School by two points in the Freo Dockers Cup – White Division Grand Final.

Then in the Vanderweide Division Grand Final, Bunbury Senior High School won a low scoring affair against Bunbury Catholic College by 12 points, reversing the Grand Final result from last year.

Former Dockers champion Roger Hayden was on hand to present the Coaches’ Awards.

Ben Cribb, School Programs & Competitions Coordinator at the West Australian Football Commission, hailed the event a resounding success.

“We would like to congratulate the winning teams and every player who took part,” Cribb said.

“The Fremantle Dockers Football Club also deserve recognition for the support they continue to show female footy.”
