Hart Earns U16s All-Australian Team Selection

Western Australia’s Basil Hart has been selected in the 2023 AFL National Development Championships – U16 Boys All- Australian Team for his efforts in the recent Championships.

WA finished second in Pool A of the U16 Championships last weekend, having lost their match with Vic Metro.

The Black Swans finished the Championships with a 2-1 win/loss record, equal to Vic Metro.

Peel Thunder product Basil Hart is the only WA player selected in the All-Australian Team, following impressive performances across all three matches.

The medium forward won WA’s Most Valuable Player award as he was dangerous up forward, kicking multiple goals each game finishing with seven overall from an average of nine disposals and two tackles.

WAFC Executive Manager Football Operations Scott Baker congratulated Hart on his selection.

“This is a great achievement for Basil, he had a terrific carnival,” Baker said.

“The Talent pathways not only assist with developing the State’s young players but provides them with the opportunity to experience the game at the highest possible level,” Baker said.

The 2023 AFL National Development Championships – U16 Boys All-Australian Team were selected by a panel comprising Kevin Sheehan (AFL Talent Ambassador – Chair), Tarkyn Lockyer (AFL National Academy Coach/Manager) and AFL recruiters Jamie Downs (Western Bulldogs), Francis Jackson (Richmond), Ross Monaghan (Sydney Swans), Stephen Nash (West Coast Eagles) and Chris Toce (St Kilda).

The All-Australian team features players from all ten teams, with each team MVP winner earning selection in the side.
