The West Australian Football League State 18s play Victoria Metro and Victoria Country in the final two rounds of the NAB AFL National 18s Championships at Simonds Stadium in Geelong today and next Thursday.

There have been some impressive individual performances from WA players in the first four rounds of the Championships including Clint Hinchliffe, who worked hard throughout WA’s most recent match against Victoria Metro to finish with 24 possessions, six inside-50s, four clearances and a goal.

Captain Greg Clark has also been a consistent performer, averaging 21 possessions and six marks in the first four games and kicking a goal in three of them. Other players to show promising signs have included Callum Ah Chee, Jordan Snadden, Josh Schoenfeld, Jake Waterman, Declan Mountford and Marshall Jones.

The WAFL talent academy continues to develop outstanding players, coaches and support staff for the WAFL competition and the AFL system. Approximately 20% of AFL draftees over the last four years have come from the WAFL including Stephen Coniglio, Jaeger O’Meara, Jack Martin, Jesse Hogan and Cameron McCarthy.
