WAFL Round 10 Results

CLAREMONT, East Perth and Swan Districts all consolidated spots in the top-four with comprehensive WAFL Round 10 victories on Saturday with West Perth maintaining touch also by beating Subiaco.

All four matches were on Saturday afternoon with Claremont beating Perth, Swan Districts downing East Fremantle, East Perth too good for Peel Thunder and West Perth winning against Subiaco.


Claremont dominated Perth at Claremont Oval after half-time with 14 goals to four to run out 24.14 (158) to 11.4 (70) victors.

Tom Lee kicked six goals for the Tigers for the second consecutive week with Paul Medhurst adding four and Chad Jones three. Tom Swift had 34 possessions, Luke Blackwell 29 and Kane Mitchell 29.

Fraser McInnes kicked three goals for Perth with Leon Davis working hard for 21 possessions and two goals.

East Perth won its sixth straight game in a high-scoring shoot out against Peel Thunder at Bendigo Bank Stadium, prevailing 25.13 (163) to 17.6 (108).

Adam Prior kicked six goals for the Royals with Garry Moss adding four, Mat Seal three and Josh Smith three. Paul Johnson (pictured) dominated the ruck with 23 possessions, 31 hit outs and two goals. Brad Holmes kicked five goals for Peel with Scott Lycett adding four and Matt Battye three.

Swan Districts proved too good for East Fremantle winning 15.14 (104) to 9.9 (63) at East Fremantle Oval.

Tim Geappen kicked four goals for the black-and-whites with Ashley Hansen returning to the side and adding three. Tom Roach had 34 possessions, Kyle Hams 29 and captain Josh Roberts 28. Rory O'Brien picked up 28 disposals for East Fremantle and Steven Dodd 25.

West Perth improved to a 4-5 record while inflicting Subiaco its fifth straight loss this season. The Falcons ran out 14.16 (100) to 12.6 (78) winners at Arena Joondalup.

Andrew Strijk kicked three goals for the Falcons with young gun Shane Nelson outstanding with 30 possessions. Rhett Kerr kicked three goals for Subiaco with captain Aidan Parker picking up 25 disposals in his 200th WAFL appearance with the Lions.
