The results of the elections for Commissioners on WA Football’s Board were endorsed at a meeting of WA Football stakeholders on Thursday night.

Melanie Fisher has been appointed as a new Commissioner for a term of three years, while Martina Crowley retains her position as a Commissioner for a further three years.

The appointments continue gender parity on the Board with four male and four female Commissioners.

WA Football Chair Ian Callahan congratulated the Commissioners on their appointment and thanked voting members for their support.

“WA Football is excited to welcome Melanie Fisher as a Commissioner and to see Martina Crowley return for a second term,” Callahan said.

“We look forward to them both playing a significant role in supporting the growth and development of football in Western Australia.

“I would like to acknowledge and thank everyone who nominated for this election.

“We were fortunate to have such a high calibre of individuals nominate and I wish all candidates all the best for the future.”

Amber Banfield will conclude her current term on December 31 after serving six years as a Commissioner, with Callahan paying tribute to her significant contribution during that period.

“I would like to thank Amber for her contribution to WA Football and her commitment to improving our great game,” Callahan said.

Banfield, who opted not to seek a third term due to a heavy work schedule, filled a variety of roles as a Commissioner including Chair of the Women in Football Advisory Committee and Football Facilities Fund.

The endorsed Commissioners will commence their terms on January 1, 2026.
