State Talent and Draft"
A squad of 30 has been named to begin training for the 2023 season and prepare for the 18’s State Academy program.
Players were invited into the squad based on their 2022 WAFLW league or Rogers Cup seasons as well as performances in State Academy programs.
WAFC Talent Specialist – Female Programs Elly Lambkin is excited about the group which will assemble on Saturday, November 12 at Floreat Surf Club.
“The summer program will focus on building a base for players to launch their seasons from through individual development plans, education sessions and high-level coaching and training,” Lambkin said.
The squad will also take part in two camps, the first at Tuart College in late November, followed by a three-day camp at Rottnest in late January.
“Both of the camps scheduled for the summer program have a focus on education modules, team building and outlining minimum standards players are required to reach in the 18’s program,” Lambkin said.
Below are the dates for the 2023 National Championship Matches:
State 18’s Championship Game 1 – Sunday 30th April (WA v SA), Perth
State 18’s Championship Game 2 – Sunday 6th August (Allies v WA), Sydney
