WA pair Olivia Wolmarans and Evie Cowcher have been invited to attend the AFLW Draft in Melbourne on Monday in a massive boost to their top-10 hopes.
The talented duo were among 11 players Australia-wide invited in a strong sign that their names will be read out early in the draft.
Subiaco key forward Wolmarans had an impressive season at both AFLW National Under-18s and WAFLW levels, earning U18 All-Australian selection and playing a key role in the Lions’ return to finals, booting 19 goals in 11 appearances.
Wolmarans is expected to be the first West Aussie called out in the draft and could go as high as the top-five picks.

Peel Thunder defender Cowcher was rated WA’s best prospect heading into 2025 before a tough run on the injury front saw her sidelined for most of the year.
Before that, Cowcher won the State 18s MVP award twice to go with a senior fairest-and-best gong for the Thunder.
WA could have double-digit draftees this year on the back of a record number of Under-18s All-Australians and Draft Combine invitees.
West Perth ball magnet Mia Russo and Subiaco midfielder Olivia Crane are among the others in the mix to be picked in the opening round of the draft.
The entire AFLW Draft is happening on Monday from 4pm WST.
