ALL four games in Round 11 of the WAFLW were tight affairs with Peel Thunder scoring their first win of 2024, Subiaco getting back to winning and the grand finalists of the last two years Claremont and East Fremantle moving further clear.
There was no greater margin in the finish among all four games than 19 points including a one-point result in what was the most intriguing and competitive weekend of WAFLW action this season.
It got underway on Saturday at Sullivan Logistics Stadium with Subiaco snapping four-game losing run by staying in the finals hunt with the 6.8 (44) to 5.3 (33) victory against Swan Districts with Olivia Wolmarans dominant with 23 touches, 12 hit outs, nine tackles and eight inside 50s.
The other Saturday game saw Claremont maintain top spot with a thrilling 3.11 (29) to 4.4 (28) win against South Fremantle at Revo Fitness Stadium with another 31 possessions from Jayme Harken.
Then on Sunday, East Fremantle made it six straight wins to now be within three percentage points of top spot with the 6.7 (43) to 4.2 (26) victory against West Perth at Fremantle Community Bank Oval with another 21 touches from Zippy Fish.
Last up was Peel Thunder opening their account for the 2024 season and making up for the Round 7 loss to East Perth with the 6.6 (42) to 3.5 (23) victory against the Royals at Sullivan Logistics Stadium.
