WA Country Football League General Manager Joe Georgiades said he was excited about the level of football that would be displayed over the course of the carnival.

“We’ve got country footballers coming to Perth from all around the State for the three day carnival so there will be a lot of talent running around,” he said.

“Country WA has a proud tradition of producing top players, so the competition offers the chance to see some of the best developing players before they move on to the WAFL or AFL.

“Landmark also has a great history of bringing country people together, so we are looking forward to a big celebration in the 50th year and looking back over the history of carnivals past,” Mr Georgiades said.

A Championship launch function will be held on Wednesday, July 9 where the best players over the past 50 years of the championship will be recognised in the WA Country 50 Year All Star team.
