Thunder campaigns for PeelFriday, March 27, 2015 - 4:59 PM

Peel Thunder has joined forces with the Peel Region’s peak tourism body MAPTO, and the City of Mandurah to promote the Peel region and the Anytime Adventures brand to both visitors and locals.

Mandurah and Peel Tourism Organisation Inc, (MAPTO) CEO Steven Hollë jointly announced the new sponsorship deal with Peel Thunder CEO Bill Kostandas.

Throughout the 2015 and 2016 seasons, players will sport the Anytime Adventures logo on  the chest of their jumpers, with the region’s tourism brand being seen by thousands of spectators in the WAFL home and away games.

“Peel Thunder will make excellent ambassadors for our campaign message, which is about discovering how you can tackle some great adventures right here in the Peel,” said MAPTO CEO Steven Hollë.

“While our marketing is targeted towards the city population of Perth encouraging them to take advantage of how close the Peel region is for an easy getaway, this sponsorship also helps present our message to local residents by reminding them there are some terrific things to see and do close to home.

"We have outstanding adventures here on our doorstep and this is also a call to discover what’s in your own backyard.”

The team will wear the new jumpers during the season’s 20 games, with a minimum of 10 games played at home at Bendigo Bank Stadium and two to be televised on Channel Seven Perth in July and August.  The sponsorship also includes signage at the Bendigo Bank Stadium.

Peel Thunder CEO Bill Kostandas said the sponsorship was a natural fit for the 2015 season.

“This year, our club has again welcomed the support of a wide cross section of the local business community.  Having the joint sponsorship of MAPTO and the City of Mandurah means we can promote the Anytime Adventures message to everyone who comes to our games.

“For all the fans in the WAFL, the trip to Mandurah can be the chance to catch your team playing in one of the best venues in the competition while also enjoying a quality short break and some excellent Anytime Adventures across Mandurah and the Peel region,” said Mr Kostandas.

Mayor Marina Vergone said the City was excited to be involved with MAPTO to promote the Anytime Adventures tourism campaign.

“Given the coverage of WAFL football on free to air television, we believe there is an opportunity to broaden the exposure of the brand on a state wide level,” she said.
