In Round 20 of the WAFL Colts competition Perth and Claremont battled it out at Lathlain Park in what was a surprisingly close contest which resulted in a one-point win to the Tigers. In another surprising clash South Fremantle defeated ladder-leaders East Fremantle by 18 points in the Fremantle Derby, Swan Districts claimed a 14-point victory over Subiaco and East Perth brought home a comfortable 94-point win to West Perth.

The RediMed Colts Young Guns for Round 19 was Matthew Young from East Perth who collected 56 votes, closely followed by East Fremantle player Dwayne Nevill.
