IT is NAIDOC Round in the WAFL on Saturday with all eight teams running out in specially designed jumpers to mark the occasion and to celebrate the contribution of the Indigenous people to the competition.

It is not only a significant weekend to celebrate NAIDOC Week either with all four games taking place on Saturday afternoon having plenty riding on the results.

The traditional NAIDOC Round clash features Claremont and South Fremantle who have made it an annual event between the two clubs since 2007.

This time around the Tigers host the Bulldogs at Claremont Oval with Claremont needing a win to stay in the finals race and South Fremantle to remain in second spot. The game will be televised live on 7mate from 1.30pm.

West Perth and Peel Thunder do battle in another crucial contest at HBF Arena with bouncedown at 2.15pm. The Falcons could slip out of the top five with a loss while the Thunder could further consolidate third position with a win.

Swan Districts hosts East Fremantle at Steel Blue Oval with the black-and-whites looking to continue their winning form to stay in the top five against the bottom placed Sharks.

Perth has an unenviable task of trying to snap Subiaco’s 12-game winning run with the Lions hosting the struggling Demons at Leederville Oval.

The sixth placed East Perth has the bye.
