WA plays off against Victoria Metro at the Gold Coast’s Bond University on Monday, July 10, to open the round before heading to Broadbeach to take on the Allies and Victoria Country.

The Mundella WA 18s split their results in the opening two games of the NAB AFLW 18s National Championships held in Sydney in May.
After starting with a huge 87-point win against NSW/ACT at Sydney’s Blacktown International Sports Park, the WA players couldn’t repeat the performance when they lost a tough contest against Queensland by nine points.
West Australian Football Commission Talent Manager – Female Programs Clint Degebrodt said the group has reviewed their performance from the opening round of the championships and has set achievable targets ahead of Round 2.
“I am very pleased with how focussed and committed the group has been in preparing for the upcoming round of the NAB AFLW 18s Championship, and how the players have developed over the short period,” he said.
“The players created a set of values earlier in the talent program, which include respect, unity and hard work, and the leadership group has worked off these values to refocus the squad ahead of Round 2.
“The message players have been given is to trust each other to perform their roles, control what can be controlled, enjoy the experience, and to also show love and passion for the game.”
The WAFC is excited to see this group in its female talent development program progress into the WAWFL and have an impact at League level. The WAFC is committed to ensuring its talent program continues to strengthen and develop the next generation of female footballers to further enhance the state’s standing on the national stage.
