The WAFL will be promoting access and inclusion at four Count Me In football games in Round 12 this weekend June 10 and 11.

The Count Me In football round – developed in partnership with the Disability Services Commission, the WA Football Commission and the Department of Sport and Recreation – promotes the importance of welcoming, accessible, and inclusive communities for everyone.

There will be free entry to the games for people with a disability with Companion Cards and their companions, or people with specially marked tickets.

WAFL General Manager Steve Hargrave encouraged all football fans to head to the WAFL during Round 12 to enjoy a game of footy and celebrate the Count Me In initiative.

“It’s a great day out for the family and helps to promote a great cause,” he said.

“The Count Me In partnership has successfully delivered community outcomes at the WAFL for the past three seasons and this year will be no exception.”

Count Me In aims to remind everyone that people of all abilities can enjoy the benefits of being part of a sports club – whether it is on the field as a player or official, supporting the team from the sidelines, or behind the scenes as a volunteer.

The Count Me In round will also include demonstration games at half time by integrated football teams, Count Me In promotional activities and special guest appearances at League games.
