Proud West Australian and four-time World Champion professional boxer Danny Green will join Swan Districts FC on Saturday, March 25 to help the club kick off its ‘Stop the Coward’s Punch’ Game against South Fremantle at Steel Blue Oval.

“I’m very pleased to be working with Swan Districts FC on bringing the Coward’s Punch Campaign to the community via the WAFL,” Green said.

“The work put into this inaugural event by Ross, Jenny and all the great people at Swan Districts is testament to the depth of feeling within the community to stop these terrible acts, and the horrendous outcomes, for the families involved.”

Sickened by a string of fatal one punch attacks around the country, Danny decided enough was enough and created his ‘Stop the Coward’s Punch’ Campaign highlighting the effects of violence on the victim, the perpetrator and their families.

Swan Districts FC Chief Executive Jeff Dennis said the club was delighted to help Danny with this very worthy cause.

“Our club has chosen to support the ‘Stop the Coward’s Punch’ campaign to help ensure senseless acts of violence on an unsuspecting victim are no longer referred to as a ‘king’ hit by the perpetrator but instead by the derogatory term of a ‘coward’s punch,” Mr Dennis said.

Danny will be joining the Board, sponsors, special guests, members and supporters as the club’s guest at the President’s Function prior to the commencement of the League game on Saturday, March 25.

All supporters are invited to attend the luncheon from 12pm – 2pm in the main bar. Tickets are available for $70 per seat by calling 9279 8700 and include a sit down lunch and seating in the Sponsors Lounge to watch the League game against South Fremantle. Tickets are strictly limited.

Danny will also toss the coin on the Oval before the League game.
