Country Football WA"
The DEPPRO WA State 16s play South Australia this Saturday, June 25 in the first round of the NAB AFL National 16s Championships.
WAFC State Talent Manager Adam Jones congratulated the players selected to play South Australia and said the focus was to provide each of them with opportunities for individual development within the wider constructs of a team, while also harnessing the WA style of play and honing in on skill development.
“The players are looking forward to showcasing the skilful, hard-running football that WA is renowned for and which they have been working so hard on for the past eight months,” he said.
“We are also looking to ensure that players get the opportunity to play in multiple roles, giving them the chance to showcase their skills in all phases of the game. Selectors are confident that they have put together a talented group of young footballers who are more than capable of matching it with their peers from the other states.”
The State 16s will return from Adelaide following Saturday’s game against South Australia and then depart the following week for two games on the Gold Coast.
