Claremont Football Club is turning pink for Perth’s biggest cat fight against Subiaco at the Claremont Showgrounds on Saurday May 14 as part of the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s (NBCF) Real Men Wear Pink campaign.
Breast cancer doesn’t just affect those diagnosed with it; it affects their families and partners, their dads, their sons and brothers.
The Real Men Wear Pink campaign provides an opportunity for men who feel vulnerable, scared and disempowered to come together.
Claremont Chief Executive Officer Graham Moss said the club are aiming to raise awareness about the importance of breast cancer research and provide valuable funding.
“We are aiming to raise in excess of $10,000 for NBCF through this game and fundraising campaign and I encourage you all to participate and donate where you can,” Mr Moss said.
Claremont and NBCF are really proud to announce Hawaiian as the Major Sponsor and St John Ambulance WA as the Major Support Sponsor.
“We are very thankful that two great organisations are able to partner with us for this initiative.”
All football fans are encouraged to get to Claremont Showgrounds on Saturday or tune in to Channel 7 from 3:00pm for live coverage of the game.
Claremont players will don a limited edition jumper raising awareness for the Real Men Wear Pink Campaign and all fans and attendees are being encouraged to sport some pink to support the cause.
National Breast Cancer Foundation Chief Executive Officer Dr Sarah Hosking said she was thrilled by the club’s involvement.
“The enthusiasm Claremont is showing is an inspiration to other teams and we’re so grateful for the funds, but also the work the team is doing is raising awareness of the very real need for ongoing research,” Dr Hosking said.
Claremont will also be hosting its Family Fun Day event on Saturday and all children under the age of 16 will receive free entry to its matches.
