CLAREMONT was knocked out of the 2013 Foxtel Cup in Adelaide last night in a tough contest against SANFL side West Adelaide.

The Tigers were aiming for their third consecutive Foxtel Cup Grand Final and a chance to secure back-to-back titles but couldn’t overcome a determined Bloods side in slippery conditions at AAMI Stadium.

Depsite leading by two ponts at half time, Claremont was outgunned in the second half, with West Adelaide holding them goalless to win 6.7 (43) to 3.8 (26).

Jake Murphy was Claremont’s best with 24 disposals, 10 tackles, seven clearances and seven inside-50s.

West Adelaide will meet East Fremantle in the Foxtel Cup Grand Final at AAMI Stadium on Tuesday, August 6.
