The West Australian Football Commission congratulates Swan Districts women’s player Rhonda Williams on being named as a Jim Stynes Scholarship recipient for 2013.

Williams is WA’s second successful nomination after Tayla Bresland won a scholarship in 2012. She will be officially honoured at the 2013 Brownlow Medal Presentation in September.

Williams currently plays League football for Swan Districts in the WA Women’s Football League and most recently represented WA in the State U18 Youth Girls Team, which finished second at the National Championships.

The Jim Stynes scholarship is designed to help up-and-coming players with the costs of their football, travel and education expenses to help them realise their potential in the game.

Williams said she would continue playing football and aim to follow her dream of teaching deaf children.

As a student leader at Swan View SHS, all staff and students are also very proud of her achievement.
