South Fremantle, Peel Thunder, Swan Districts and East Perth all recorded opening round wins as the 2013 WAFL 16’s carnival season kicked off with a bang at the weekend.

Peel Thunder began its 2013 campaign in emphatic fashion with a 75-point win over Perth at Brownes Stadium, running out 15.8 (98) to 3.5 (23) victors.

South Fremantle also got its season off on a winning note with a comfortable 10.13 (73) to 6.7 (43) win over Claremont at Claremont Oval.
