THE WAFL will undertake three weeks of pre-season fixtures to gear up for the 2013 home and away campaign beginning on Saturday February 23.

The first match on February 23 will take place at Claremont Oval starting at 10.30am when the reigning premiers Claremont take on last year’s losing preliminary finalists Swan Districts.

Perth and South Fremantle will then do battle in the traditional time slot of 2.10pm at Lathlain’s Brownes Stadium before two night fixtures round out the day’s action.

Medibank Stadium co-tenants Subiaco and East Perth will face off as will Peel Thunder and East Fremantle at Mandurah’s Bendigo Bank Stadium. Both games will bounce down at 6.30pm.

Round 2 of pre-season action takes place on Saturday March 2 with another morning clash, this time between Swan Districts and Perth at Bassendean’s Steel Blue Oval starting at 10.30am.

East Fremantle and Subiaco will play each other in the 2.10pm time slot at East Fremantle Oval with another two night battles to follow.

South Fremantle will play West Perth at Fremantle Oval, and East Perth takes on Claremont at Medibank Stadium again with both bouncing down at 6.30pm.

The final round of pre-season action then takes place on Saturday March 9 with Perth playing East Fremantle at Brownes Stadium at 2.10pm. South Fremantle and Swan Districts will do battle at the same time at Fremantle Oval.

Peel Thunder and West Perth will then face each other at 6.00pm at Mandurah’s Bendigo Bank Stadium with Subiaco facing Claremont at Medibank Stadium at 6.30pm.

That all leads into Round 1 of the 2013 WAFL season that sees four matches all taking place at 2.10pm on Saturday March 16.

West Perth takes on East Perth at Arena Joondalup, Perth plays Peel at Brownes Stadium, Claremont faces South Fremantle at Claremont Oval and East Fremantle takes on Swan Districts at East Fremantle Oval in a rematch of last year’s preliminary final.
