Eight WA football clubs and one local umpire association have successfully applied for grants to assist in junior and youth girls football uniforms.

The AFL has confirmed 96 local clubs and community umpire associations across Australia will receive the grants, totalling $250,000.

The Junior & Youth Girls Uniform Grant Program was launched earlier this year by the AFL and is proudly supported by Fanatics, a global digital sports platform.

The program was established to foster inclusion by allocating funding towards new uniforms for junior and youth girls in community football.

Bianca Glanville, Women and Girls Community Football Coordinator at the West Australian Football Commission, is delighted that local clubs will benefit from the grants.

“This is a great opportunity to ensure that every athlete feels comfortable and confident on the field,” Glanville said.

“This grant not only recognizes the growing presence of women in the sport but also promotes a more positive and supportive environment for female players.”
