It was a stunning run to the Grand Final for Swan Districts but ultimately the club fell just short of a famous grand Final victory going down to Claremont on the biggest day of the season.

First year senior coach Jason Burton guided the side to third position with 12 wins and four losses, finishing just half a game off second place.

A first week finals victory over East Fremantle by one point was followed by a thrilling two point victory over Subiaco in the Preliminary Final.

Swans hit the finals full of momentum winning the last five games of the home and away season.

The black and whites midfield this year was led by Jaime Henry, who averaged 24 disposals a game and kicked three goals through, along with Carys D’Addario, who played racked up an average of 24 possessions a match.

D’Addario and Ava Stewart both represented the WA 18s this year.

Swans also had plenty of options in attack with Taylah Edwards booting 29 goals, Emily McGuire 17 and Summer Yarran 12 for the season.

Young gun Henry won Swan Districts’ McSherry Medal as she established herself as one of the best midfielders in the WAFLW.

A year of growth for Swan Districts with the prospect of more to come in 2026.
