WA Football can confirm the return of the WAFL Football Budget for 2026 after a deal was struck with Sports Entertainment Group (SEG) ahead of the opening round of the Sullivan Logistics WAFL season this weekend.
The iconic 105-year-old publication will feature within the WA editions of the AFL Record as a special 24-page lift-out.
It will be available to purchase at all Sullivan Logistics WAFL and ATCO WAFLW matches, as well as every Fremantle and West Coast home game at Optus Stadium.
The revived Football Budget will continue its proud tradition of covering Western Australian football, featuring WAFL and WAFLW content, player lists, club stories and historical continuity for supporters young and old.
“We’re delighted to have the WAFL Football Budget back for the 2026 Sullivan Logistics WAFL and ATCO WAFLW seasons and are grateful for SEN’s support in bringing the 105-year-old publication back to life,” WA Football Executive Manager Brand and Growth, Todd Baker, said.
“The WAFL Football Budget will have more eyeballs on it than ever before as part of the AFL Record.

“We’ve been working hard behind the scenes with SEN to develop a viable product for WAFL and WAFLW fans and look forward to seeing our collaboration come to fruition when the Sullivan Logistics WAFL season kicks off over the Easter long weekend.”
SEG Chief Executive, Craig Hutchison, said bringing back The Football Budget was about preserving something deeply important to the WA football community.
“The Football Budget is part of the fabric of WA football,” Hutchison said.
“For 105 years it’s told the stories of the game at a local level, and when it was taken away the reaction made it clear just how much it means to people. We’re incredibly proud to work with the AFL Record to bring it back and ensure this piece of football history continues for future generations.”
The Sullivan Logistics WAFL season commences on Good Friday with a four-game bonanza, before the opening round wraps up on Easter Saturday with West Perth hosting Claremont at HIF Health Insurance Oval.
All four games in Round 2 of the ATCO WAFLW season will be played on Good Friday.
