Freo Dockers Cup Lightning Carnival (Year 7/8/9 Female)

WAFC Football Development Officers will organise one day lightning carnivals to provide
opportunities for schoolgirls to either try football in a safe and fun environment, and/or enhance their football skills developed through their PE program.

All schools that nominate will receive:

  • 2 synthetic footballs per team
  • Participation certificates & posters

Freo Dockers Schoolgirls Cup (Year 7/8/9 Female)

The Freo Dockers Schoolgirls Cup is an interschool competition for girls in Years 7, 8 & 9. The competition enters its 7th year in 2024 and is coordinated by the West Australian Football Commission.

Division 1: Strong football schools with home & away games played across the metropolitan area.

Division 2: Schools of medium strength with home & away games played 'locally' where possible.

Competition Format:

  • Played during Term 3 
  • Managed by WAFC Development Officers

REGISTRATION:

All schools that nominate receive a match ball to use during the competition.

Eagles Schoolboys Cup (Year 8/9 Male)

The Eagles Schoolboys Cup is an interschool competition for boys in Years 8 & 9. The competition enters its 41st year in 2024 and is coordinated by the West Australian Football Commission.

WAALITJ DIVISION (A Grade): Strong football schools with home & away games played across the metropolitan area.

EAGLE DIVISION (B Grade): Schools of medium strength with home & away games played 'locally' where possible.

Competition Format:

  • Played during Terms 2 & 3 (Please refer to timeline)
  • Home & away games played across both metropolitan and regional areas
  • Managed by WAFC Development Officers and Regional Development Specialists

REGISTRATION:

All schools that nominate receive a leather match ball to use during the competition.

Freo Dockers Cup (Year 10/11/12 Female)

Each year over 1,250 schoolgirls participate in the Freo Dockers Cup. 2024 marks the 29th year of the competition which is coordinated by the West Australian Football Commission and the Schoolgirls Advisory Committee.

Participation in the Freo Dockers Cup has become an important step for girls to become involved in community youth or senior women's competitions.

COMPETITION DETAILS

  • Played during Term 2
  • Games are played after school on Tuesdays over 2 x 20 minute halves. (Please refer to timeline)
  • Two metropolitan divisions (Moore Division & White Division) and SHS Country Week (Vanderweide Division)
  • The Schoolgirls Advisory Committee reviews all nominations and reserves the right to change a school's nominated division to achieve a balanced competition
  • Country Schools – All competitions are coordinated by your local WAFC Regional Development Specialist.

All schools that nominate receive a match ball (first 50 schools) to use during the competition.

MOORE DIVISION (A Grade): Strong football schools seeking quality competition with home & away games played across the metropolitan area. After the home & away games the top teams progress to the finals.

WHITE DIVISION (B Grade): Where the majority of schools compete. Teams are split into regional pools to play against other schools in their ‘local’ area. After the home and away games the top teams will progress to the finals.

VANDERWEIDE DIVISION: Only for schools who participate at Senior High School Country Week.

Eagles Senior Schoolboys Cup (Year 11/12 Male)

The Eagles Senior Schoolboys Cup offers a well organised & high quality interschool competition catering for over 3,000 students from country and metropolitan schools throughout WA. 2024 marks the 37th year of the competition which is coordinated by the West Australian Football Commission and the Secondary School Football Advisory Committee (SSFAC). 

Competition Format: 

  • Played during Term 2
  • Games are played after school on Wednesdays over 2 x 25 minute halves
  • 3 metropolitan divisions (Top, Jakovich & Glendinning)
  • The SSFAC reviews all nominations and reserves the right to change a school's nominated division to achieve a balanced competition
  • Country Schools – All competitions are coordinated by your local WAFC Regional Development Specialist.

BILL WALKER DIVISION: Only for schools who participate in ‘A’ section at Senior High School Country Week.
