2015 Nicky Winmar coach and player registrations now open

The 2015 Nicky Winmar Carnival will be bigger than ever before with more than 300 participants expected and a minimum of 12 teams from throughout regional and metro WA.

The carnival will be played in a round robin format, with all teams lead by Aboriginal coaches and current and former AFL and WAFL role models.

Each competing team will also be linked with the relevant WAFL talent development officers, who will be in place to identify exciting new talent on the day.

The carnival will also provide the opportunity to select players and coaches for U15 State Aboriginal Squad, which will compete at the KickStart National Championships in April 2015.

Nominations are now open to coach or play in the carnival which will take place at Bendigo Bank Stadium, Mandurah on Sunday 1st March 2015.

Want to play in the carnival?

To be eligible to play in the carnival you must:

Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander

Be born in 2000, 2001 or 2002*

*Players born in 2002 will need to make a special request to play in the carnival

Want to coach in the carnival?

To be eligible to coach you must have the following:

Working with Children Check

Minimum Level 1 Coaching Accreditation (if not yet achieved enrolled to complete by 2015)

Previous coaching experience

Strong links in the Aboriginal Community

Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
