Claremont’s Jayme Harken Wins Second Dhara Kerr Medal

Claremont Football Club midfielder Jayme Harken has claimed back-to-back Dhara Kerr Medals at the WAFL Women’s Awards on Monday night at The Westin.

The Tigers midfielder claimed the WAFL Women’s fairest and best award after finishing with 27 votes.

Harken averaged 24 disposals in 2024.

Harken’s win comes off the back of another strong season for Claremont, who will enter their third WAFL Women’s grand final against cross-town rivals East Fremantle on Sunday.

Other WAFLW League awards presented on the night included the Joanne Huggins Leading Goal Kicker Award to Courtney Zappara (Swan Districts), while teammate Carys D’Addario claimed the Cath Boyce Rising Star award.

Zappara kicked 22 goals for Swan Districts.

The WAFLW Coach of the Year presented by Fremantle Football Club was won by East Fremantle coach Matt Templeton.

West Perth’s Hayley Bidefeld won the Charmaine Rogers Fairest and Best and will have the opportunity to claim a premiership medal in Sunday’s grand final against Subiaco.

West Perth is through to their second grand final having remained undefeated all season for the second consecutive year.

The Rogers Cup Leading Goalkicker was tied between Perth Football Club’s Shante Anderson and South Fremantle’s Nicole Taylor-Thorpe each kicking 29 goals.
