The results of the election for Commissioners of the West Australian Football Commission were endorsed last night, 5 December 2024, at a meeting of WA Football stakeholders.
Brad Wira and William Robinson have been appointed as new Commissioners for a term of three years each.
Michelle Fyfe was reappointed as a Commissioner, also for a term of three years.
Outgoing WAFC Chair, Hon Wayne Martin AC KC congratulated the Commissioners on their appointment and thanked the voting members for their support during the process.
“The WAFC is pleased to welcome these highly qualified candidates to the Commission, where they will contribute to the ongoing growth and development of football in Western Australia,” Mr Martin said.
“I would like to thank everyone who nominated for this election.
“The Commission is fortunate to have such a high calibre of individuals nominate, and I wish all candidates all the best for the future.”
Martin thanked outgoing Commissioner Mark Hann.
“Mark’s contributions across multiple sub-committees have significantly benefited our organisation.
“His understanding of the game and passion for community football are qualities we have all benefited from.”
The endorsed Commissioners will commence their terms on January 1, 2025.
Martin’s term will conclude on December 31, 2024. Ian Callahan will begin his tenure as WAFC Chair at the beginning of next year.

ELECTION RESULTS
Michelle Fyfe
Michelle Fyfe will continue her role as a WAFC Commissioner, a position she has held since 2022. Fyfe is the Chair of the WAFC Integrity Committee which aims to mitigate risk to safeguard the organisation and the industry as well as set future education standards that are consistent across the industry. Her previous roles in the community included CEO of St John Ambulance WA and Assistant Police Commissioner in a career which spanned over three decades. Fyfe displays qualities including leadership, governance, strategic planning and community engagement.
William Robinson
William Robinson has been successful in his bid to join the board of the WAFC for the next three years. Robinson played the game at varying levels (TAC Cup/Eastern Ranges, Camberwell Grammar School First XVIII) in Victoria and more-recently at A Grade Amateur Level for the University Blues Football Club (‘’Uni Blues’’). He has been a WAFL Tribunal Member since 2016 and specializes in complex litigation, particularly in sports law. Robinson brings a wide range of skills to the role including legal expertise, risk management and stakeholder engagement.
Brad Wira
Former AFL player Brad Wira has been elected to the WAFC Board for the next three years. Wira has been a player, a coach and an administrator at all levels of football for the past 35 years including AFL, State of Origin, WAFL, community and school football. Having represented the Western Bulldogs and Fremantle Dockers during his career, the 52-year-old has also been a financial advisor to AFL players and coaches.
