Western Australia was well represented at the AFLW National Draft Combine in Melbourne last week.
WA had a record nine participants at the combine, including late invitation and Claremont WAFLW premiership star Juliet Kelly who blitzed the 2km time trial.
Kelly finished third in the 2km event with an impressive time of 7:21, while Subiaco key forward Olivia Wolmarans (7:50) the next best West Aussie in ninth.
Wolmarans also had a top-10 finish in the vertical jump, finishing joint-eighth after a 51cm jump.
East Fremantle talent Alicia Blizard also had a pair of top-10 results in a boost to her draft stocks.
Blizard was fourth in the agility test with a time of 8.54 seconds and sixth in the 20m sprint with a time of 3.23 seconds.
Like Blizard, West Perth ace Mia Russo enjoyed a top-10 effort in the agility, clocking a time of 8.66 seconds.
This year’s testing was held at the State Netball and Hockey Centre in Melbourne, with Combine participants completing the standing vertical jump, running vertical jump, 20m sprint and agility test. A 2km time trial was earlier completed at the AIA Centre.
Five more West Aussies will test at the WA State Draft Combine in Perth this Sunday including Claremont WAFLW premiership player Ella Gilbey and Swan Districts pair Sienna Gerardi and Ava Stewart.
